IRVINE — A postmortem might have been a better summary than a box score, but just as it did on multiple occasions over more than 4 1/2 hours and 457 combined pitches, the UC Irvine baseball team will live to fight another day. But though fight was not in short supply for the Anteaters in Saturday's 15-12 loss in 12 innings to Big West Conference visitor UC Riverside, neither was an abundance of fault. "We didn't deserve to win. [Heck] no," UCI Coach Mike Gillespie said after the No. 25-ranked Anteaters fell to 33-18, 13-7 in conference to allow Cal State Fullerton (18-3 in conference)

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL Orange Coast def. San Diego Mesa COSTA MESA — Harrison Carrol had 11 kills and seven digs to help the host Pirates post a 30-25, 30-27, 38-36 Pacific Coast Conference win Friday. Nathan Trodahl had 16 digs to help OCC improve to 10-1, 4-1 in conference. BASEBALL Fullerton 9, Orange Coast 7 COSTA MESA — The host Pirates led, 6-4, after six innings, but the Hornets scored three in the seventh and two in the eighth in the Orange Empire Conference game Friday.

Zotfan Costa Mesa, CA: The UC Irvine men's golf team overcame a 14 stroke deficit entering the final round of the 30th Annual Anteater Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Mesa Verde Country Club on Tuesday February 2nd. This was the first golf tournament for the Anteaters to start off the spring season.The Anteaters fired a final round of 280 to tie the Broncos who shot a 294 Tuesday for first place with a three-round total of 848. All five players participated in the play-off hole with the top four players scoring as UC Irvine captured the title shooting a two-over (14)

NORTHRIDGE — The UC Irvine women’s soccer team’s quest for one of four spots in the Big West Conference Tournament took a hit Sunday, when the Anteaters were defeated, 1-0, by host Cal State Northridge in a conference match. The Anteaters (10-6-2, 3-3-1 in conference) are tied for fourth place with Pacific (10 points each, with three points for a win and one for a tie). UCI has one match remaining, while Pacific has two. Also, Cal State Fullerton, with seven points, has two matches remaining.
