If it weren’t for a homeowner’s quick reaction and fast response by officers, police say, two men accused of trying to burglarize a Costa Mesa home Wednesday morning might have gotten away. Police arrested Stephen Jordan, 20, of Santa Ana, and Clifford Lacy, 39, of Costa Mesa, about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday speeding away from the 2100 block of Newport Boulevard, said Lt. Bryan Glass. Glass said one of the men was acting as a lookout while the other was burglarizing a home nearby when the homeowner woke up. The homeowner heard noise and confronted the burglar who ran away, he said.
