The Newport-Mesa Unified School District offers menu choices each day at elementary schools. Students may choose a vegetarian entree if desired. The selection varies and may be either a salad, sandwich or hot entree. School lunches are $2 each. Here's what's being served this week: TODAY Munchable Lunch Salad with yogurt or grilled taco chalupa with lettuce and salsa, green apple, frozen 100% fruit juice bar, choice of milk WEDNESDAY Vegetarian Health Sandwich, corn dog or veggie corn dog, veggie sticks with dip, apricots, choice of milk THURSDAY Munchable Lunch Salad or chicken patty sandwich on a bun, glazed carrots, fruit turnover, choice of milk FRIDAY Munchable Lunch Salad or turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy, fresh baked roll, choice of fruit, choice of milk MONDAY Munchable Lunch Salad or stuffed-crust pepperoni or cheese pizza, baby carrots with ranch dip, choice of fruit, choice of milk The Munchable Lunch Salad contains tossed greens, cherry tomatoes, crackers, protein sources such as cheese, sunflower seeds, fruit yogurt and honey-roasted peanuts, and dressing.
