SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO -- Led by Nicole Kim, who was second overall in the individual competition, the Corona del Mar High varsity club team won the varsity division of the Interscholastic Equestrian League show Sunday at the Oaks/Blenheim Riding Park. Julia Koetting, Whitney Roy and Anne Schroeder also contributed to CdM's victory in the 10-school varsity division, its fourth in four shows. Katie Jones and Forrest McKenna led CdM to the team title in the freshman division, consisting of 14 schools, while Laura Peck represented CdM in the junior varsity division.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - Zack Friedrichs pitched a complete game and Tim Wilkins had a two-run triple for Sage Hill, but host St. Margaret's defeated the Lightning, 6-3, in an Academy League baseball game Friday. A former choir director accused of molesting a teenage girl in Costa Mesa pleaded not guilty Monday, prosecutors said. Albert Lee Schildknecht, 56, led the choir at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in San Juan Capistrano. He was accused of molesting the girl in 1995 when she was 16, authorities said. Authorities began investigating in May when the alleged victim, now 28, contacted Orange County sheriff's deputies. Investigators decided the alleged crimes exceeded the statute of limitations and dropped the case.

The Tory Burch women’s boutique at South Coast Plaza plans to host a special shopping day Wednesday to benefit disabled veterans. Between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., a portion of all sales will benefit the Homes for Heroes and Foundations for Families program sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. Funds will go to construct houses in San Juan Capistrano for veterans with combat-related disabilities and their families. In addition, guests invited by Habitat for Humanity will get a 10% discount on all full-priced purchases.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO ? The Sage Hill School boy's golf team ended St. Margaret's 46-match league winning streak by topping the Tartans, 199-201, in an Academy League clash Monday at San Juan Hills Country Club. Lightning senior Andrew Slusser shared medalist honors with a St. Margaret's foe by shooting par 36 over nine holes. Senior Josh Chen (37), freshman Stuart Hagestad (37), Tejas Shah (42) and Ryan Babbush (47) also scored for the winners, who improved to 7-2, 4-0 in league.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - The Corona del Mar club equestrian teams won overall titles in the varsity and junior varsity levels, while two CdM riders also won individual honors in their respective divisions at the Interscholastic Equestrian League show Sunday at The Oaks. Anne Schroeder was the top overall rider in the junior varsity competition, while Katie Jones, also representing CdM, tied for the individual crown in the novice division. Julia Koetting and Nicole Kim led CdM to the varsity team title, while the junior varsity crown was captured with contributions from Elyse Avila, Jessica Cardelucci, Sarah Mendlesohn, Laura Peck and Schroeder.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - Newport Harbor High senior Margie Anderson picked an opportune time for her first sub-100 round of the girls golf season, shooting 25-over-par 96 Monday to claim the eighth of 12 spots in today's second round at the Sea View League Finals at San Juan Hills Country Club. "I believe that's the first time she has broken 100," said Newport Harbor Coach Marianne Towersey. The second round tees off today at 10:30 a.m. at the same venue, from where the top five individuals will advance to the CIF Southern Section individual championships, Nov. 15 at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs.
