Ellena 'Tyke' Gaston Coontz Services for 44-year Newport Beach resident Ellena "Tyke" Gaston Coontz will be held Sunday at Pacific View Memorial Park. Ms. Coontz died Thursday of congestive heart failure. She was 85. She is survived by daughters Sondra, Denise and Janet; son John; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Downie Davidson Muir III Private services will be held for 33-year Newport Beach resident Downie Davidson Muir III. Mr. Muir died Friday of pneumonia.

Mary Frances Norton Services for 48-year Corona del Mar resident Mary Frances Norton will be held at 2:15 p.m. Thursday at Pacific View Memorial Park. Ms. Norton died on Saturday of natural causes. She was 83. She is survived by sons Kevin Norton and John Reilly; daughters Mary Jo Reilly and Kellie Demato; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mark Robert Weiss Services for 46-year Newport Beach resident Mark Robert Weiss will be held at noon Wednesday at Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Corona del Mar. Mr. Weiss died on Monday of brain cancer.

      Patricia Bonadio of Big Canyon, Newport Beach   went to be with our Lord on   January 24, 2007.   Born in   Brooklyn, New York   Patricia was very active in several charities   including the "Angels of the Arts"   and served as president for many years on the   Orange County Arthritis Association   She is survived by her husband Richard Bonadio;   daughters Lauraine and Carolyn Bonadio;   sisters Maureen Herbert and Kathleen Zaccheo   and brother Michael Connolly   A Requiem Mass is being celebrated at Our Lady   Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church     in Newport Beach followed by a private luncheon     at the Big Canyon Country Club

Robert Steele Ross, an 18-year resident of Newport Beach, died May 10 of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 75. Born Oct. 15, 1930, in McKeesport, Pa., Ross spent his time here volunteering for the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation in the library's bookstore. He also was known among friends for his bonsai gardens, a hobby he practiced for 40 years. Before retiring to Newport Beach, Ross worked for 30 years as a physical therapist in West Covina. He is survived by his wife, Bette;, sons Jim and Mike; a daughter, Laurie; and five grandchildren.

Joan Dugan, who dazzled young readers for 24 years as the children's librarian at the Balboa Branch Library, passed away from cancer Thursday at her daughter's home in Utah. She was 75. A native of Artesia, Dugan moved to the Balboa Peninsula in 1959 and took the reins of the children's library in the late 1960s. During her two decades there, she won a reputation as a spirited librarian and an advocate of literature for children. "She was very uplifting, happy, much of a ham," said her daughter, Patty Hughes.

Robert F. Anderson A funeral mass for Mr. Robert F. Anderson will be held at noon on Monday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church in Newport Beach. Mr. Anderson, a 20-year Newport Coast resident, died on Thursday of cancer. He was 48. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Elizabeth Anderson; son Christian Anderson; daughter Elysse Anderson and mother Ona Halloway. A rosary is also scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m. at the church. Kathie Green Ms. Kathie Green, a resident of Corona del Mar for 40 years, died on Thursday of natural causes.

Ann Pals A memorial service is set for Ms. Ann Pals at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach. Ms. Pals, a Costa Mesa resident for 42 years, died on Thursday of a stroke. She was 86. Ms. Pals is survived by her daughters Laura Bell and Myra Gruber; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A visitation will also be held at the church on Monday at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the St. Andrews Church music ministry.

Dave Ross Grant Mr. Dave Ross Grant, a former Costa Mesa resident, died Dec. 29 in Aspen, Colo., of cancer. He was 66. Mr. Grant is survived by his wife Judith; daughters Deidre Boineau and Deanna Conte; son Philip Conte; and aunt Betty Jean McGavran. A memorial service is scheduled to be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Chapel in Aspen. Glenn Boies Glenn Boies, a former Newport Harbor High athlete known for his versatility, died of complications from leukemia Tuesday at 1 a.m. He was 75. Boies was an offensive lineman for the football team, a pitcher for the baseball squad and a guard for the Sailors basketball team in the mid-1940s. He also served as student body president at Newport Harbor in 1944-45. Boies worked 40 years for the McKesson-Robins drug firm before retiring to a home in Fountain Valley with his wife, the late Alene.

Fran Miehl A funeral mass for Costa Mesa resident Fran Miehl is scheduled for Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on the Balboa Peninsula. Mrs. Miehl died Saturday. She was 89. Mrs. Miehl is survived by a daughter, Sharon Fairborn; sons Peter and Christopher Miehl; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Hilbert College to establish a scholarship fund for women who return to college later in life.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 1015 Baker St. in Costa Mesa. Ms. Organista died Sunday. She was 79. She is survived by daughters Lucrecia; Balbina; Patricia and Claudia; son Antonio; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
