Alex Coolman They bob slowly on the ripples of boat wakes, sometimes listing ever so slightly on the chains of their rusty moorings. They're boats that were once snug and tidy, clean and cheerful. They're boats that once wore fresh coats of paint and highly polished wood. Now they're forgotten, all but abandoned. Day after day, they float dormant in the harbor currents, slowly growing more decrepit. Eventually, as their hulls warp and collect layers of bird droppings, they deteriorate from objects of desire into objects of contempt and complaint.

Deleo Clay Tile is a family-owned business, specializing in clay tile roof tiles. Deleo's handcrafted tiles echo the old world charm of Europe. With the introduction of the stone wash collection, we have captured the essence of the antique, terra-cotta clay roofing tile imported from France and Italy. The stonewash tiles can be used in their entirety or as an accent tile with Deleo throughbody tile.

An Orange County Superior Court judge on Tuesday prohibited a man accused of killing a Newport Beach doctor from transferring ownership of his property to relatives, according to an attorney for the victim's family. Alex Coolman NEWPORT BEACH -- The instructions to the small crowd assembled in the Land Rover showroom Friday morning sounded a little ominous. "The cars normally don't roll over," said Ron Young, director of sales for Land Rover Orange County. "But if they do, you'll be wearing your seat belt. You'll be quite safe." Was this encouragement? The crowd, a group of executives from the Irvine law firm of Snell & Wilmer, decided that it was. And only a few minutes later, these otherwise responsible attorneys went whizzing off in a caravan of high-end sport-utility vehicles for an off-road adventure near Lake Elsinore.

While I’m sure the intent of this piece (“What bugs you at the beach?” June 12) was supposed to be lighthearted, I find some of the commentary generally disgusting. Some of the responses were reasonable. Betsy Shulz of Lake Forest said it bugged her when people smoked on the beach. Phil Lingle of Orange said he hates dirty water. But we have come across a new form of discrimination with Tyler Butsko of Newport Beach. I think I’ll refer to him as an “areacodeist,” one who discriminates based on one’s area code.
