LAGUNA HILLS — Like the short-porch center-field fence perched atop a virtual cliff, the Corona del Mar High baseball team spent the majority of its Pacific Coast League game at Laguna Hills Tuesday on the precipice. But, time after time, the Sea Kings found footing on higher ground in an 8-1 victory that helps them maintain their spot at the top of the league standings. “Superior defense, clutch pitching and great hitting,” said CdM Coach John Emme, whose squad, after a 2-5 start, has opened league 2-0 and is tied for first with defending league champion Beckman.
