Editor's note: This corrects when Cinderellas for Life takes place. A Costa Mesa nonprofit seeks volunteers to play godmother to 500 young women for its upcoming charity event, according to a press release. In partnership with Autobytel and Caché, Working Wardrobes, which provides support to in-need adults and youth, is collecting prom dresses and accessories for its 10th annual Cinderellas for Life event March 12. The dresses and accessories will be gifted to the young women selected through Working Wardrobes' programs as part of a one-day series of motivational workshops.

The Look continues to search the coast for the exceptional evening gown. Our model is Robin McMonigle of Newport Beach. She is the wife of real estate agent and developer John McMonigle, a partner in the newly formed Strada Properties, which opened this past week in Newport Center. Robin, who is the exceptionally graceful mother of two young children, shows off some of the finest designer evening wear from Neiman Marcus, Fashion Island. When Robin is not taking the children to play dates and enrichment classes or working with husband John on one of his many real estate ventures, she supports a number of local causes, including the Harvesters, associated with the Food Bank of Orange County.

Wedding Announcement - Abby & Scott Schepens Abby Deegan and Scott Schepens were married December 1, 2012, at the UCI University Club in Irvine, California, Reverend Michael Ahearn officiated. The bride is the daughter of the Deegan Family of Glendale California. The groom is the eldest son of Michael and Val Schepens of Costa Mesa. The bride was escorted by her mother Carol Deegan. She wore a vintage style ivory lace gown adorned in delicate crystals. She carried an elegant bouquet of deep purple calla lilies and burgundy roses.

They danced until midnight, interrupted only by an invasion by the famous USC Marching Band. A fun-filled and romantic winter wedding united a charming and promising couple in what was the social event of the holiday season. Meredith Louise Potter , resplendent in a classic bejeweled wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier, married her beau Charles Alexander Blecksmith (Alex) , in a traditional ceremony taking place in the 1920s-era Laguna Presbyterian Church in Laguna Beach.

Julie Ann Viker and John Russell Means III of Corona del Mar exchanged vows May 29 on the Monarch Bay Sunset Terrace at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dana Point. The bride is the daughter of Shirley Viker of Eagle Rock, Mo., and Syd Viker of Boise, Idaho. Her strapless gown of white satin featured a basque bodice and a ball-gown skirt with a chapel-length train. It was adorned with embroidered jasmine flowers and pearls. The bride wore a pearl and crystal tiara, a pearled veil and silk, elbow-length gloves.

Some Orange County nonprofits need donations of prom dresses and accessories for an annual day of empowerment for at-risk girls. Women Helping Women/Men2Work is partnering with Girls Inc. of Orange County and Orangewood Children's Foundation for their sixth "Belle of the Ball. " On March 23, about 350 at-risk teenage girls will hear speakers, attend body image and empowerment workshops, and receive free prom dresses and accessories at Orange Coast College. Women Helping Women is asking for new or gently used formal dresses, formal shoes, purses and jewelry to support the event.

NEWPORT BEACH - Andrea Popa Williams knows 22 points on every woman's body that hold the potential for fashion greatness or disaster. As proprietor of Andrea's Couture in Corona del Mar, which specializes in high-end custom gowns, it's her job to make sure the latter doesn't happen. "Every gown we do, we fit to the body and concentrate on a woman's physique," Williams said. "We fit a real woman. The reality is that most mothers are not a size 6 or size 4. " This is where a tape measurer and 22 specific measurement points across the female body come into play, she said.

It is the most glamorous social event of the year in Orange County. It may also be one of the most elegant parties on America's annual event calendar. Last week's Candlelight Concert to benefit the Segerstrom Center for the Arts celebrated its 25th anniversary in grand style. The 2011 gala was the 38th installment of the annual fundraiser for the Costa Mesa arts center and netted a smashing $1.3 million. The money will be earmarked for the center's artistic and educational programs.

Ever had surgery? I have. Had some last week, in fact. I had a torn rotator cuff, which has now been trimmed, stitched, un-torn, fluffed and folded. Your rotator cuff, as you know, is the part of your shoulder that, well, rotates and looks like a French cuff, pretty much. I had a crackerjack surgical team, with Dr. Russell Petrie at the Newport Orthopedic Institute large and in charge. Everything went fine, and it's much better now. It only hurts when I breathe or when I'm standing, sitting or lying down, all of which I try to avoid.
