FOR THE RECORD A story Friday, "Man subdued, arrested at Costa Mesa school," should have stated that the incident at Estancia High School took place Thursday, not Wednesday. . . . . . . Photographer Kent Treptow said Marisela Sandoval wasn't too happy about being attacked with Silly String and confetti. But to her family, which must have been a little more than pleased that she'd graduated high school, such a celebration was a fun way to show their love and to congratulate their graduate. The Estancia High School graduate joined 1,463 other students of Newport-Mesa Unified School District high schools on Thursday in shaking with the right hand, receiving the diploma with the left.

Elise Gee COSTA MESA -- If the city gains jurisdiction over fields at Estancia High School, members of an adult soccer league could lose one of the last places in the city where they are still allowed to play, and other residents could lose the only field they have within walking distance. Interamericana Soccer was banned from city fields after a stabbing last October. Because Estancia High School fields fall under the supervision of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, some Interamericana soccer players have been using the fields for practice.

A 19-year-old Estancia High School student died early Sunday morning when his car collided with a tree on Sunflower Avenue near Susan Street in Costa Mesa, police said.
