CORONA DEL MAR - A blast off the bat of Corona del Mar High junior Billy Eagle was flagged down near the right-center field fence to kill what would have been a go-ahead, fifth-inning rally in the Sea Kings' 2-1 loss to visiting Capistrano Valley in the Foothill-Costa Mesa Tournament Thursday. "Capo is considered one of the best teams in Orange County, so this tells us where we stand," CdM Coach John Emme said. Though it seemed the Sailors (14-4) might have jammed the piece in, they took care of business, nonetheless. Since Scott Meyer took over as the football coach at Corona del Mar High two years ago, only one opponent has held his team to single-digit points. Going into Friday night's game, Meyer was well aware of that team. The Sea Kings played host to that team at Davidson Field. The Sea Kings came out firing on all cylinders against that team, producing touchdowns on their first four drives. Eighty-eight seconds into the second quarter, that team trailed by its largest margin of the year.
