Shannon Terese Roys passed suddenly at 41 of a brain aneurism on January 27, 2012 at her home in Aliso Viejo, CA. Shannon was born to Dr. Gilbert and Kayla Roys in Pasadena, CA January 6, 1971. She attended Newport Beach Schools before transferring to Troy High School in Fullerton, where she graduated in 1989. She was a Newport Beach National Charity League Debutante in 1989. Shannon attended San Jose State and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority before transferring to Chapman University, where she graduated in 1994 with a degree in Computer Information Systems.

Corona del Mar woman hit by transit bus A Corona del Mar woman crossing Jamboree Road at Eastbluff Drive around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday suffered a broken leg Wednesday morning after she was hit by an Orange County Transit Authority bus, according to police. The bus was southbound on Jamboree Road when the 31-year-old woman ran into the street and was struck by the bus, Orange County Transit Authority spokeswoman Andrea West said. The woman was taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, West said.

ALISO VIEJO - Three pinfalls and a technical fall were the lone highlights for Newport Harbor High's wrestling team in Thursday's 56-23 Sea View loss to host Aliso Niguel. Harbor's Bruce Lim was in total control in the 125-weight class, winning by a technical fall, 22-7. Dr. Michael Mandelkern, chairman of the Department of Letters on the Brooklyn campus of the College of New Rochelle, has been named dean of Orange Coast College's Literature and Language Division. Mandelkern, a resident of West Belmar, NJ, will officially join the OCC staff July 1. His expertise is in film and 18th century studies. ...
