The format is up to the hosts, but I imagine we'll dish about the various races, candidates and issues. Few people know Newport and Costa Mesa like Selich, Johnson and Venezia, so we should have a good time doing a little pre-election prognosticating.
For those of you who don't know Selich, she is the editor in chief of OCSocialScene.com, which covers philanthropic events. She writes a column for the Newport Beach Independent, serves as a host on the NBTV show "City Scenes" and is the wife of Councilman Ed Selich.
Johnson is the former longtime publisher of the Daily Pilot. He writes a regular column in The Current, the Register's Newport-Mesa publication, and is president of Johnson Media Group, whose clients include the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau, Irrelevant Week and Visit Newport Beach Inc.
Venezia is a longtime Register columnist who recently brought her weekly Newport-Mesa politics column back to the Pilot. You can read her first column on the front page of Friday's paper and online at dailypilot.com.
Johnson and Selich have a good lineup planned for their hour-long show:
•11 a.m.: Ashley Johnson of Visit Laguna Beach will talk about the Celebrate Good Taste event, March 7 to 9.
•11:10 a.m.: Nancy Levy will discuss the Leukemia Cup Regatta events at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club.
•11:15 a.m.: Andi Querry of the city of Newport Beach will discuss crime prevention.
•11:30 a.m. Venezia and I will talk Feet to the Fire Forum.
It's supposed to be raining hard this weekend, so it might be a good time to curl up by the radio — you still have one of those, right? — and listen to the program. For more information on KOCI, visit Kociradio.com.
