Corona del Mar High's Scott Meyer earned the California Division III All-State Football Team Coach of the Year honor, while three CdM players, senior center Giovanni Gentosi, junior defensive end Parker Chase and senior safety Charlie Griffin made the first team, and Costa Mesa senior linebacker Oronde Crenshaw made the second team.

Newport Harbor senior left tackle Ramsey Hufford is on the California Division II All-State first team, and Newport Harbor senior cornerback Cory Stowell on the second team.

Meyer, in his third season, led CdM to its second straight undefeated Pacific Coast League title, its third straight CIF Southern Section Southern Division title, its first CIF State Division III Bowl Game title, and the Sea Kings became the first high school football team in California to finish a season 16-0.

Meyer has guided the Sea Kings to a 40-4 overall record and 14-1 mark in league during his time in charge. He guided the Sea Kings to a 27-15 win against Atherton Sacred Heart Prep in the CIF State Division III Bowl Game at the StubHub Center in Carson.

Meyer was named the All-State Medium Schools Coach of the Year, the CIF Southern Section Southern Division Coach of the Year, and the Orange County Coach of the Year.

Gentosi went 40-4 during his three years as a CdM starter. He won his final 26 games, helping the Sea Kings own the state's current longest winning streak.

Gentosi, a 6-foot-2, 230-pounder, earned MaxPreps All-American Small Schools Football Team, All-State Medium Schools First Team, CIF Southern Section Southern Division Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Orange County, Pacific Coast League MVP and Daily Pilot Newport-Mesa Dream Team Player of the Year honors.

Gentosi anchored a CdM offense that averaged 219.1 rushing yards, 171.9 passing yards and 34.3 points per game.

Chase produced 16 sacks, two shy of CdM's single-season record. He totaled 97 tackles with one interception, four fumble recoveries, returning one for a touchdown, and three forced fumbles.

Chase received CIF Southern Section Southern Division Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Orange County, first-team All-Pacific Coast League and Dream Team accolades.
