New hotel managers at Wyndham
In other hotel news, Wyndham Irvine-Orange County Airport, which is getting ready to unveil its multimillion-dollar renovation, has named two new senior managers.
Justin Gammon will take on the role of general manager. Diane Blake will serve as director of sales and marketing.
The hotel has booked twice as many groups as it did last year, according to a news release.
C2 hires new senior VP
Costa Mesa-based C2, an independent printer, has named Roger Lackey senior vice president.
Working closely with sales, he will play a role in strategy, marketing and developing best practices, according to a news release.
Lackey previously worked with OCB Reprographics and its parent company, ARC. He graduated from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa.
Daily Pilot promotes copy editor
Daily Pilot copy editor Debbie Zucco has been promoted to copy chief.
Reporting to Art Director Hamlet Nalbandyan, Zucco will take on an expanded role in the newsroom, making news decisions in the evening hours and editing letters to the editor and commentaries.
Zucco previously spent 19 years on the copy and wire desks of the Orange County Register and served as letters and columns editor at the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
Blackmarket Bakery marks 1 year
Blackmarket Bakery, 2937 Bristol St., will celebrate its first year at The Camp "with an old-school cake walk, free samples of new cookies and tarts and more" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The bakery, which specializes in pastries, breads, cakes and confections, is known for using simple ingredients. Blackmarket was founded by an Irvine native, chef Rachel Klemek, who has recently expanded the menu to include breakfast sandwiches.
Lighter vegetarian meals
Also on the dining front, Veggie Grill, a vegetarian fast-casual chain with Orange County locations, plans to offer a reduced-calories menu. The "Mindful Living" menu features items in the 500-calorie range.
The special menu will list calorie and protein counts, as well as information about nutrients, such as fiber, vitamins and antioxidants.
Veggie Grill's menu is vegan, meaning it's "100% plant-based."
