COSTA MESA — Junior Doris Corona, playing No. 3 singles, won a critical set for the Eagles late, securing the Orange Coast League opener on the road Tuesday.

Serena Kao and Brooke Thomas swept at No. 1 doubles for Estancia (4-5). Kenia Lara and Aphisara Sirirungvikrai swept at No. 2 doubles for the Eagles.

Catharine Debbas swept at No. 1 singles for Costa Mesa (1-5).

Newport Harbor 17, Fountain Valley 1

FOUNTAIN VALLEY— Kate Knight, McKenna Johnson and Baylee Bakkila swept in singles for the Sailors in the Sunset League match Tuesday.

Freshmen Kendall Cosenza and Anna Burke swept at No. 3 doubles for Newport Harbor (7-3, 2-0 in league).

Sage Hill 14, Crean Lutheran 4

NEWPORT BEACH — The Lightning took all nine doubles sets, losing only one game in the Academy League match Tuesday at The Tennis Club Newport Beach.

The No. 1 doubles team of Lauren Hsu and Jaclyn Gerschultz, the No. 2 doubles team of Kimberly Brown and Amira Tarsadia and the No. 3 doubles team of Mara Beard and Briana Rayhaun all swept for Sage Hill (2-5, 2-0 in league).

Hsu and Gerschultz swept at No. 2 doubles for the Lightning in their 10-8 nonleague road loss to JSerra Monday.

Liana Korber won two of three sets in singles for Sage Hill.

Sage Hill def. Calvary Chapel

SANTA ANA — Sophomore outside hitter Halland McKenna had 20 kills, 17 digs and three aces to lead the visiting Lightning to the 25-23, 24-26, 25-18, 25-20 nonleague victory Monday.

Senior outside hitter Maggie Danner had 18 kills and nine digs, while sophomore setter Maddy Abbott chipped in 41 assists, eight digs and three aces for the Sage (5-1).

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — The Sailors' Grace Ferrell shot even-par 36 to share medalist honors with Lillia Vu of the Barons in the Sunset League match Tuesday at Mile Square Golf Course.

Tara Hanna (41), Hannah Perry (50), Christina Ferraro (50) and Tahya Corona (51) scored for Newport Harbor (4-5, 0-2 in league), which posted its lowest score of the season.

The Sailors play against Foothill Wednesday at Tustin Ranch Golf Club.

IRVINE — Sophomore Stephanie Cho shot four-over-par 40 to earn medalist honors for the Lightning in the nonleague match at Strawberry Farms Golf Course Monday.

Senior Angela Choi and freshman Michelle Chen both shot 41 for Sage Hill.

IRVINE — Senior Dylan Thies finished seventh in 16 minutes, 48 seconds to help Sage Hill take third at Mason Park Tuesday.
