CdM Coach Brian Ricker said Rhone was very nervous the long-standing CdM tennis "French-Fry Rule" might come his way. When CDM wins 17-1 the person who got the 1 (a 1 looks like a French fry) must bring McDonald's French fries for the entire team the next day at practice.

Seniors Alex Murray, Dan Anastos and Zach Williams contributed to sweeps in doubles on senior day.

CdM will play at the Brentwood-Orange Lutheran winner in the second round Friday.

Sage Hill 12, Los Osos 6

RANCHO CUCAMONGA — Senior Robbe Simon swept at No. 1 singles for the Lightning in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs Wednesday at Los Osos High.

Sage Hill, the defending Division 3 champion, is now 10-10. Los Osos, the Baseline League champion, finishes 17-2.

Sage Hill plays host to Kennedy in the second round Friday, at The Tennis Club Newport Beach.
