Embracing Diversity at OCC

Orange Coast College will present International and Multicultural Awareness Day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the campus quad, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. At 1 p.m., faculty members and students will meet in the Student Center Lounge to talk about the value of cultural understanding in a global world.

Holocaust Remembrance Day

The Bowers Museum and Orange County Public Libraries present a lecture by Laura Hillman, an author and Holocaust survivor who was one of the Jews helped by Oskar Schindler. The lecture, followed by a book signing, is at 1:30 p.m. in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium at Bowers, 2002 N. Main St., Santa Ana.


UC Irvine's Music Department at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, the Humanities Department of Jewish Studies and the OREL Foundation present a lecture by OREL's Bob Elias on the music of Theresienstadt, the Nazis' "model ghetto." Supermarket Easter Seals Campaign

Throughout April, the Vons and Pavilions markets in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach will give shoppers the check-out option of making a donation to the seventh annual April Charity Campaign for Easter Seals Disability Services. Vons stores in Costa Mesa are located at 185 E. 17th St., and 2701-B Harbor Blvd. There are four Pavilions stores in Newport Beach: at 2660 San Miguel Drive, 3433 Via Lido Drive, 1000 Bayside Drive and 21181 Newport Coast Drive.
