Newport Beach students still have more than 30 days to apply for a $500 city scholarship to be used for tuition, books, laboratory fees, academic fees and rent, according to the city's website.
Students must either live in Newport Beach or be children of parents who are full-time city employees in order to qualify for the City of Newport Beach Scholarship Program.
Other requirements include having maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, applying to an accredited community or four-year college, or transferring to an accredited four-year college.
