A memorial for the late Jim Scott, a passionate Costa Mesa schools booster, will be held at the Estancia High boys' gym Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Scott, who led projects that included a new football stadium at Estancia High, died of heart failure on May 14. He was 85.
Estancia's football stadium is named after him.
He was highly instrumental in getting facilities constructed at Costa Mesa and Estancia high schools. He led efforts to gather support in the community and generate funds. Jim Scott Stadium was built in 2008 and a new pool at Costa Mesa High was completed last school year.
