Dedicated members of Friends of the Costa Mesa Libraries and volunteers at the Mesa Verde bookstore descended on Mesa Verde Library earlier this month to assist at a two-day used-book sale, one of which was a buck-a-bag sale day.
A customer was so pleased with this sale that his purchase of children's books totaled $20!
The Friends of the Costa Mesa Libraries' bookstore at the Mesa Verde Library, which is now more than 5 years old, is located behind the library in the corner of the parking lot. Regular hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The Mesa Verde Library is at 2969 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa Mesa.
Carts outside the bookstore door have items available Tuesdays through Fridays for an affordable 25 cents each; buck-a-bag days for outside-cart items are Saturdays and Sundays. Book carts have been placed near the library's front door for shoppers, holding books for adults and children at regular bookstore prices, mostly between 50 cents and $1. Currently, special books have been set aside in the store for those cooks and crafters who plan ahead for the holidays.
