Hamilton and Ludwig battled against Korber and Hutton McKenna of Laguna Beach. The championship came down to a super tiebreaker. Both teams entered the final undefeated. Korber and McKenna scored a 5-3 in mixed doubles to tie the final, 10-10 and forced a super tiebreaker. Hamilton and Teague won the super tiebreaker, 7-5.
Korber defeated Ludwig, 5-2, in girls' singles.
Sam Sherman of Sage Hill and his "rival" teammate Deena Fahami of St. Margaret's finished third in the eight-team tournament.
Aaron Zuriel and Katie bick, both from Sage Hill, finished fourth with a 3-4 record.
The Lightning duo of Ryan Lee and Lauren Hsu finished fifth. Sage Hill's Eric Magliarditi and Maddie Gehrich of St. John's were sixth.

Breakers suffer another loss
The losses continue to mount for the Newport Beach Breakers.
They suffered their seventh straight loss after falling on the road to the Philadelphia Freedoms, 25-16, Monday night.
The Breakers dropped to 3-8, in last place in the Western Conference. With three matches left on the World Tennis Team schedule, the Breakers' season is virtually over. They'll play at St. Louis Tuesday night and return to Newport Beach for matches on Wednesday and Thursday.
Against the Freedoms, the Breakers were swept in all sets. Lester Cook lost, 5-4, to Brendan Evans in men's singles. Marie-Eve Pelletier and Travis Rettenmaier lost to Nathan Healey and Lisa Raymond, 5-4, in mixed doubles.
Newport Beach will play against the Springfield Lasers Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at Breakers Stadium.

CdM hoops tourney coming
Corona del Mar High is playing host to its 23rd annual alumni boys' basketball tournament on July 30.
Robert Hess, the tournament director, expects graduating classes from as far back as 1977 to the most recent class to compete at the 16-team tournament. The tournament will also have a silent auction to raise funds for the basketball program.
The tournament will start at 8 a.m.

Newport alumni tourney looms
Newport Harbor High is playing host to its 11th annual alumni boys' basketball tournament on July 30.
The entry fee per player is $25 and participants will receive a T-shirt. Jamie Holmes, the organizer of the event, said players do not have to have a team to enter the tournament and individuals will be placed on teams.
Check in will be at 8 a.m. and the games are expected to start at 9 a.m.
