There will be several Memorial Day observance ceremonies in the area, including one at 11 a.m. Monday at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary, 1625 Gisler Ave., Costa Mesa. The Newport Beach American Legion will hold two Memorial Day ceremonies with performances by the Mountain Fifes and Drums at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, and at 1 p.m. at Newport Harbor Post 291, 215 E. 15th St., Newport Beach. Make a Splash

As per tradition, Newport Dunes & Marina, 11331 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, is opening its Aquatic Water Park this weekend — and is planning the biggest Memorial Day Weekend celebration in its history. On Saturday, enjoy a Hawaiian barbecue starting at 12:30 p.m. ($25 adults and $12 kids ages 12 and younger), followed by a tug-o-war game at 1 p.m., limbo at 2 p.m., Polynesian dancers at 3 p.m., crafts at 5 p.m. ($1 each), a live performance by Jumpin' Jack Flash at 6 p.m. and a Movies on the Beach screening of "Despicable Me" at 8:30 p.m. Those who wear a Hawaiian shirt to the barbecue will receive a free soft drink or ice cream coupon. Highland Hijinx

The annual Scots Fest, a Scottish festival of entertainment, food and culture, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Orange County Fair & Event Center, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Enjoy the United Scottish Society's Highland Games and Gathering, including massed bands at noon Saturday and 5 p.m. both days; a memorial service at 10 a.m. Sunday; highland dancing; traditional Highland games like the caber toss; and live music. Tickets are $18 for adults (one day); $16 for seniors 65 and older and students with ID; and $5 for kids ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and younger get in free, as do active armed forces in uniform with ID.

I Want My Baby Back
