March 07, 2011

COSTA MESA — Four people were injured Sunday after a driver ran a red light in Costa Mesa, police said.

A driver and three passengers in a Nissan coupe were taken to a nearby area hospital after the accident shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Newport Boulevard and Victoria Street, said Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Phil Myers.

They were all released later on Sunday, he said.

The Nissan was eastbound on Victoria when a driver of a Toyota Tacoma, traveling south on Newport, allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with the other vehicle.
