"Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing." — Ernest Hemingway in "Death in the Afternoon"
Celebrating the wisdom and the hedonistic pleasure expressed by the late American author Ernest Hemingway, the Pacific Symphony will once again present the Pacific Coast Wine Festival at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach on March 5.
In past years the festival has raised significant dollars in support of symphony's music and education programs. The proceeds from the Pacific Coast Wine Festival, which organizers hope will reach $150,000 this season, will benefit schoolchildren to senior citizens through the programs offered by the symphony throughout the year.
