New council members to be sworn in

COSTA MESA — Two new City Council members will be sworn in during the regular meeting Tuesday.

Councilwoman Wendy Leece and Councilman-elect, Jim Righeimer, who will give up his Planning Commission seat, will serve for the next four years.

Leece will be serving her second term.

Councilwoman Katrina Foley is expected to resign her seat in time to be sworn in for the Newport-Mesa Unified School District Board of Education on Dec. 14.

The new council has a variety of issues to address in the next few years with the budget deficit at the top of the list.

The council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa.
