High school sports has officially begun and that means the Friday night lights of high school football will brighten your local neighborhoods. That also means the photogs of the Daily Pilot will be stalking the sidelines of Jim Scott and and Davidson Fields down the street, and down to Laguna and up to Huntington to cover all the action of our local schools.
Daily Pilot photographer Scott Smeltzer got things going last Friday, bringing more than 20 years of high school football shooting to the game between Corona del Mar and Savanna, delivering a tight shot of CdM's Stephen Ascher putting pressure on Jeremiah Rideaux.
Scott said he used the highest setting (3200) on his Nikon digital camera, a 300mm lens, and a bit of "noise" reduction software later in Photoshop, to make the photo look sharp and colorful. Look forward to similar photos from Scott in upcoming weeks.
