Newport Harbor High product Jamie Heenan continued her strong early-season play for Vanguard (4-2, 1-1 in conference). The junior outside hitter had a team-high 22 kills and hit a team-best .340, also adding eight digs and two block assists.
Lisa Morgan had 13 kills and 24 digs for the Lions, the latter stat tying her for the team lead with Ariel Strickler. KaUwila Lavea had 10 kills and Alexandra Leja dished out 24 assists.
Amber Ridens led Concordia (9-0, 1-0) with a match-high 28 kills.

IRVINE — Senior Corey Attaway scored a goal to lift the No. 12-ranked Anteaters to a win Monday.
Attaway headed in a throw in by junior Jimmy Turner in the 14th minute. Attaway was named the UCI College Classic MVP after scoring both game-winning goals in the tournament for the Anteaters.
Junior goalkeeper Andrew Fontein had two saves as he earned his third straight shutout of the season.

COSTA MESA — Kevin Cornwall scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute as the Lions took the nonconference game Monday at Vanguard.
Cornwall scored off a through-ball from Tomislav Colic. Colic and Bryan Ponce also scored for Vanguard (-2-0-1), which came back from a 2-0 halftime deficit.
Trevor Herrera and Cody Adams combined for one save in goal.
