Tying for third were Misty May-Treanor, also of Newport Harbor, and Nicole Branagh and Angie Akers and Tyra Turner after the duos lost to Davis/Johnson Jordan and Kessy/Ross in the semifinals, respectively.
This could have been the last tournament of May-Treanor's career, as she has openly considered retirement, according to Universal Sports.
May-Treanor had played with Kerri Walsh, winning two Olympic gold medals. Walsh made her first pro appearance since giving birth to her second child in May. She lost the only two matches she played with partner Brook Hanson and tied for seventh.

Tim Toone signed to Lions practice squad
Tim Toone, known as Mr. Irrelevant XXXV, posted a disappointing message on his Facebook page Saturday morning.
"I was released today. Thank you for all of your support!" was the message after the Detroit Lions cut the 255th and dead-last selection of the NFL draft.
But Toone, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound receiver out of Weber State, returned on Facebook Sunday with better news.
"I signed to the Lions practice squad," he wrote.
Toone was one of seven players signed to the Lions' practice squad. He was the only 2010 selection the Lions did not keep on their active roster.
Toone left Weber State as the all-time leader in pass receptions (206), receiving yards (3,607) and touchdown catches (29).
