Newport Beach Mayor Keith Curry will take trade in City Hall tonight for a more informal community politics event at a local Irish pub.
Beer, Shots and Politics, presented by Muldoon's Irish Pub, will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at 202 Newport Center Drive.
The mayor is the first guest speaker in what is expected to be a monthly event where community members and local leaders come together to discuss topics relevant to local politics, according to an event news release.
"Our objective is to create an atmosphere where the diverse local community can assemble in a fun and informal location where we can eat, drink and engage in a passionate and informative discourse about real issues that affect our businesses and residential neighborhoods," Muldoon's special events coordinator Richard Kaplan said in a statement. "The result will hopefully be that new friends are made, we learn more about what services, resources and entertainment exists in our community."
