Selich can keep Bayside Drive home

July 16, 2010

Newport Beach Councilman Edward Selich's Bayside Drive home, which was in default last month, is "resolved and not an issue," he said Friday.

Selich owed about $2 million on the four-bedroom waterfront home when a legal notice listing the property as "in default under deed of trust" ran in the Daily Pilot June 3. The Orange County Register was first to report the story.

When Selich spoke with the Daily Pilot in June, he said that the "matter has been resolved and the house is not going to sell."

The legal notice ran three consecutive weeks, as required under California law, and was eligible to be set for auction July 1 at the Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana.

However, Selich reaffirmed Friday that he had taken care of the issue and that the home would remain his property.
