Allen H. Davis passed away peacefully June 22, 2010, while at home with his beloved wife of 64 years, Virginia.
Born in Los Angeles on Dec. 7, 1922, Allen was a professor emeritus at Pasadena City College, an author and humanitarian. Allen and Virginia raised their children in Altadena and also resided in La Canada before retiring to Newport Beach. He was honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers and KTLA-TV for the countless hours he spent bringing joy to everyone from hospitalized kids to senior citizens. He strongly believed laughter was the best medicine and loved adding jokes to his huge collection. He also enjoyed boating and volunteering.
In addition to Virginia, Allen is survived by his children, Ellen Rudzik (Dale), Ken Davis (Carole), his grandchildren, Stacy Rudzik, Robyn Valdivia (Adrian), Chris Davis and Philip Davis as well as two great-grandchildren. Allen was a person who always looked for the best in people and was living proof that it’s better to give than receive. He truly made the world a better place.
