Jane was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Brazil, Ind. She was the only child of Dee Krider and Lorraine Vickers Krider.
Brazil was a small town in rural Indiana where her father maintained his dental practice. Jane graduated from Brazil High School in 1942. She attended DePauw University and graduated from Indiana University in 1945.
She met her husband, Ernest W. Klatte, M.D., while both were attending medical school at Indiana University during World War II. She later decided to end her medical school studies and became a licensed clinical laboratory technician.
Jane and Ernie were married June 19, 1948. She followed her husband through his internship, residency and two tours of duty in the United States Navy, living in Galveston, Texas, Coronado, Long Beach, San Francisco and Yokohama, Japan, before settling with her husband and family in Ukiah, Calif., in 1956.
In 1969, she moved to Newport Beach with her family. She lived in the Newport-Mesa community for the next 41 years.
