A Stanton man will be arraigned next week after an Orange County judge ruled that there is enough evidence to put him on trial for allegedly raping five women and killing two, including one in Costa Mesa.
Waymon Livingston, 26, faces five counts of rape and two counts of murder, and is eligible for the death penalty.
On Monday, prosecutors presented their evidence to a judge who determined there was enough to let the charges stand and put Livingston on trial.
Livingston is scheduled to be arraigned May 20.
Between 2005 and late 2007, authorities said, Livingston raped five women in motels, his car or his home.
On Sept. 14, 2006, Livingston raped a woman in his car in Costa Mesa, prosecutors said. About eight months later, authorities said, Livingston raped and strangled a private masseuse in a Costa Mesa motel room. She survived.
