SAN DIEGO — Ronnie Shaeffer went two for four with three runs batted in and Jeff Cusick went two for three for the Anteaters in the nonconference road game Tuesday.
Evan Brock (one hit and five strikeouts in four scoreless innings) earned the win and Kyle Necke got the save for UCI (21-13).
Cusick has a 25-game hitting streak.

COSTA MESA — The Pirates squandered leads of 3-0 and 5-2 in the Orange Empire Conference game Tuesday at OCC.
Saddleback scored two in the seventh, two in the eighth and four in the ninth to improve to 15-16, 7-9 in conference.
OCC fell to 16-14, 8-8.
Scott Stidham went three for four with a run batted in, while OCC teammates Trevor Jensen and Kevin Cho had two hits apiece. Sam Michaels and Jordan Beck had two RBIs each for OCC.
Andy Abrams gave up four runs on five hits in 1 2/3 innings to take the loss.

SAN LUIS OBISPO — UC Irvine finished third in the 54-hole event completed Tuesday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
The Anteaters finished 25 shots behind victorious UC Davis and six shots behind runner-up Long Beach State.
Sophomore Lalita Patipaksiri and senior Mariko Makabe finished tied for seventh at 231 to lead the ’Eaters.
Senior Henna Cho (232) tied for ninth, Michelle Park (236) tied for 13th and Hillary Packard (237) tied for 15th.
