COSTA MESA — Harrison Carrol had 11 kills and seven digs to help the host Pirates post a 30-25, 30-27, 38-36 Pacific Coast Conference win Friday.

Nathan Trodahl had 16 digs to help OCC improve to 10-1, 4-1 in conference.

COSTA MESA — The host Pirates led, 6-4, after six innings, but the Hornets scored three in the seventh and two in the eighth in the Orange Empire Conference game Friday.

Mykal Stokes was three for five with two runs batted in and two runs and Kevin Cho was three for five with two runs and one RBI for the Pirates (9-8, 2-4 in conference). Danny Lapchak was two for four with two RBIs for OCC.

UC Irvine 5, UC Riverside 2

IRVINE — Anteaters sophomore Sam Gould won, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1 singles and also contributed to a doubles victory in the nonconference win over Penn Friday.

Fabian Matthews, Gould, Ryan Mayer and Stephen Stege won in singles in the Big West Conference win over UC Riverside. UCI is now 9-4, 2-0 in conference.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

UC Santa Barbara 5,

UC Irvine 2

IRVINE — Kristina Smith posted the lone singles win for the host Anteaters in the Big West Conference match Friday.

Smith won, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles and joined Courtney Byron at No. 2 doubles to post an 8-5 victory.

UCI fell to 5-5, 3-2 in conference.
