Battle of the Bay Alumni Match

Alumni event coming

The Corona del Mar High and Newport Harbor boys’ volleyball teams are celebrating their historic rivalry Saturday at CdM.

The event will be a Battle of the Bay, “a Night of the Decades,” and Alumni Night all in one.

All former players from both schools are invited to play. The event will begin at 4 p.m. with a 70s and 80s Newport Harbor alumni vs. CdM alumni match. After that match follows the 90s Newport Harbor alumni vs. CdM alumni.

Then, the schools’ alumni teams of this decade will compete. To end the festivities, the CdM and Newport Harbor teams for this season will play against alumni from the Back Bay schools.

Anyone from the volleyball community is encouraged to attend the matches, as well as the postgame festivities at The Newport Beach Tennis Club.

There will be food and drinks. The Ho Daddies will provide the entertainment. Casual attire is required. Funds raised will be distributed to both programs. Silent auction items are welcome. The cost is $25 per person or $30 at the door.
