RANCHO SANTA FE — UC Irvine is fourth after 36 holes of the 54-hole University of San Diego Callaway Invitational Monday at The Farms Golf Club.
UCI is 16 shots behind SMU, which posted a team score of 575. San Diego and Fresno State are tied at 581.
UCI junior Max Greil (72-71) is sixth individually, while senior John Chin (77-71) is 19th.
The final 18 holes are scheduled today.

Regional Challenge
PALOS VERDES ESTATES — Hillary Packard led UC Irvine with a four-over-par 75 Monday in the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
UCI is 15th in the 15-team event, 29 shots behind the leader, USC.
UCI’s Michelle Park and Lalita Patipaksiri are tied for 55th after shooting 79.
