For those of you who worked all week hoping for a sun-filled weekend, think again. Cloudy and rainy weather in the area are expected to last the weekend, and sunny skies aren’t forecast until Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
On Friday, rain fell lightly, but no major flooding or car accidents were reported as of 2 p.m. The rain is expected to be heaviest early Saturday, possibly causing debris flows and a potential for flooding in washes, low-lying areas, rivers and streams, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm could produce between three-quarters of an inch to an inch-and-a-half of rain in coastal and valley areas — and as much as an inch-and-a-half to three inches in the foothills and mountains, the service said in an advisory.
