Prosecutors have charged five men with various robbery, weapon, and kidnapping charges related to a violent home invasion robbery in Newport Coast earlier this week.
Antoine Bashiri Boyd, 31, Mickael Andre Hastings, 36, Ronnie Labert Morrissette, 34, Darrin Mucker, 37, all from Los Angeles, and Peter Joseph Paturzo, 44, of Mission Viejo, are all charged with multiple counts of robbery, kidnapping, and assault with a firearm. The men face life in prison if convicted of all charges.
Hastings is the only defendant in custody and had his arraignment continued to next month.
Police said the men conspired to rob former sub-prime lender Daniel Sadek’s home in a gated Newport Coast community Tuesday night. According to police, the men met a Newport Beach grocery store parking lot then drove in three cars to the community. One of the men had a gate pass to get in, while Paturzo waited outside the neighborhood in a Honda Civic, officials said. When the police were called after the robbery, they found Paturzo sitting there and arrested him.
