Jimmy Choo debuts shoes with H&M

November 12, 2009|By Greer Wylder

This is a dream come true for shoe-aholics! The Jimmy Choo collection for H&M debuts Saturday at South Coast Plaza.

Here's the skinny: The Bristol Street store opens at 10 a.m., and a line will start forming at 6:30 a.m. inside the center. There's a rumor that wristbands will be distributed for a 20-minute shopping limit in the women's shoes section. The Jimmy Choo's exclusive collaboration with H&M means that we can all afford perfect shoes for the party season, stylish clothes and accessories to match, and men's fashions from head to toe.

The shoe collection features high heels and thigh-high boots to gladiator flats and ballet pumps. And classic Jimmy Choo touches: crystal embellishments, studs and animal prints.

The shoes go perfectly with their evening clutches, larger day bags, studded belts, choker necklaces, bracelets, cuffs and earrings.

Women's apparel features one-shoulder dresses, jumpsuits, leather leggings and dresses covered in crystals, faux fur touche, sequined cardigans and embroidered tops.

For men, there will be a selection of ankle boots and bags, as well as a wardrobe of wool blazers, leather biker jackets, silk and cashmere mix sweaters, shirts and trousers.

H&M is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. H & M Level 2, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

Cocktail party

Bloomingdale's and Elle are throwing a cocktail party and fashion show to celebrate the exciting arrival of the Ports 1961 pre-spring 2010 collection by designer Tia Cibani Thursday at Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza.

One fashion critic recently wrote of the Cibani's creations: "Using a palette of pale rose, ivory and the occasional (and beautiful) crimson, Cibani has created a starkly elegant and innovative collection replete with alluring fan shapes and large, draping cowl backs. Particularly inspiring were the fabrics alone, which set man-made materials like aluminum against traditional silk, cotton, light wool and linen. One was left with the impression that these were clothes a woman like Grace Kelly might have worn ..."

Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a fashion show and shopping. Bloomingdale's at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. Call to Erin Bianchi at (714) 824-4839.
