Plans to build a new Newport Beach city hall, 16-acre park and central library expansion could cost the city anywhere from $82 million to $140 million, Newport Beach City Manager Dave Kiff said Tuesday.
In April, city officials said that the whole project could cost as much as $100 million.
The Newport Beach City Council were to discuss preliminary cost estimates for the project at a study session slated for 4 p.m. today.
The latest vision for the massive Civic Center project, at 1100 Avocado Avenue in Newport Center, includes a walkway over San Miguel Drive; a 4,000 square-foot emergency operations center; an up to 17,000-square-foot library expansion and a 450-space parking structure.
