Haute Spot to throw back-to-school sale

Teen Vogue makes its retail debut with a back-to-school Haute Spot opening exclusively at South Coast Plaza on Saturday. But hurry in, as the interactive concept store lasts only through Sept. 27.

Haute Spot is where the young chic set can find of-the-moment fashions, complimentary makeovers, style consultations and more. The store comes complete with Wi-Fi access, a beauty vanity and fragrance bar featuring Juicy Fragrance, Clinique and the D&G Fragrance Anthology collection.

And shoppers will receive a free Fox tote filled with samples and a one-year subscription to Teen Vogue. Trend closets are filled with the season’s hottest looks.

Weekend opening highlights:

2 p.m. Saturday: A “S’cool Fashion” presentation featuring looks from Burberry, Dooney & Burke, YSL, Roxy, Nike, Gucci and more. And special appearances from the cast of the new film “Fame.”

3 p.m. Sunday: Exclusive screening of the highly anticipated film “The September Issue.” Enjoy sips and sweets, mini-makeovers and more. Space is limited.

4 p.m. Monday: Visit Haute Spot for a model casting and meet with a Teen Vogue representative for a chance to appear in an upcoming issue. Must be older than 13. Parental permission required.

The store is open noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sunday on Level 1, Carousel Court, South Coast Plaza.

Fundraiser for bodysurfer

You can lend your support for Rob Khoury, a local pro tennis player who broke his neck last week while bodysurfing at the Wedge. His friends are throwing a fundraiser to help pay for his medical bills at 5 p.m. Sunday at Generic Youth in Costa Mesa.

Khoury lacks the medical coverage to get the proper treatment he needs that could possibly get him walking again.

There will be a raffle/silent auction with great products donated by Volcom, Atwater, Hippy Tree, Cordell Surfboards, Tavik, Billabong Vestal, Hurley, Grn Apple Tree, Factor 54, Antiapparel.com and Hamboard Skateboards.

Food and drinks are available for a small donation from the Pizza Bakery and Primo beer. The band “Make Moon” and a few other special guests will provide entertainment as well.
