Police Files:

Resident returns to find home ransacked

July 30, 2009

A man called police Wednesday after he came home to his Newport Beach trailer on River Avenue and found his home in shambles.

According to police reports, one or more persons removed the skylight’s screen, got inside and completely trashed the place and stole his DVD player.

Police said the trailer appeared ransacked, with wine stains throughout the living space and bathroom.

The TV was covered in an unidentifiable substance and Bloody Mary mix was poured on his bedding, clothes and mattress.

The wine and alcohol mix appeared to be spread that way deliberately, police said.

The damage and loss is estimated to be about $1,100.
