A few boat owners got a morning surprise Thursday when they saw smoke coming from a neighboring boat, officials said.
About 8:07 a.m. firefighters got a call to the docks off Lido Park Drive in front of the Bluewater Grill restaurant in Newport Beach. When they arrived, they found a fire on the Capri yacht docked in the harbor, Fire Department officials said.
Authorities said the blaze was coming from the engine room and quickly put it out with a chemical fire extinguisher.
There were no injuries and the yacht suffered minor damage, officials said.
