DOVE CANYON — UC Irvine senior Jane Chin is tied for third and the Anteaters are seventh as a team after 18 holes of the 54-hole, three-day event at Dove Canyon Country Club.
San Francisco (301) leads. UCI is 17 shots back.
Chin (two-over-par 73) is one shot behind co-leaders Jennifer Bermingham of UC Riverside and Chelsea Stelzmiller of UC Davis.
UCI sophomore Hillary Packard (80) is 27th.

LOS ANGELES — Junior Alisha Misiaita won the women’s shot put with a school-record mark of 51 feet, 9 3/4 inches Sunday at UCLA’s Drake Stadium.
She had held the record of 50-8 1/4 .
At the same meet Saturday, senior Julian Eison won the high jump by clearing 7-0 1/2 .
In other meet results: Freshman Charles Jock won the men’s 800 meters in one minute, 51.87 seconds and junior Colin Hacker won the men’s 1,500 in 3:47.85.
Senior Natasha Wardley was second in the women’s long jump (19-5) and Lasalle Mitchell was fourth in the men’s long jump (22-3).
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
Sun Devil Invitational
TEMPE, Ariz. — No. 9-ranked UC Irvine lost to No. 8-ranked Arizona State, 11-10, and fell to No. 6-ranked San Jose State, 14-7, Sunday at Arizona State University.
Gianna Rossi scored three goals to pace UCI against the Sun Devils and matched teammates Julia Fancher and Tracy Chancellor with two goals apiece against San Jose State.
The Anteaters’ record is now 15-8.

San Marcos 9, Vanguard 1
SAN MARCOS — The visiting Lions rebounded from the Game 1 loss to split the nonconference doubleheader Saturday.
Vanguard erased a 4-1 deficit with a four-run fifth inning, capped by a three-run double from sophomore Stephanie Leisenring, who finished two for four with four runs batted in.
Sophomore Patricia Olvera pitched seven shutout innings of relief to earn the pitching win for the Lions (18-17).
Freshman Kasey Klarenbach had half of the Lions’ four hits in the opening game.
San Marcos finished the day 22-16.
