COSTA MESA — Sophomore middle blocker Mike Stewart led the Pirates with 14 kills, but Golden West won the Pacific Coast Conference match, 18-30, 30-23, 30-28, 30-23, Wednesday.

Freshman outside hitter Alex Reis contributed 11 kills for OCC (6-4 overall, 2-2 in conference). Freshman setter Paul Leon had 39 assists.

The Pirates jumped out in front 18-7 in the opening game. During the run, sophomore outside hitter Jake Melone had a pair of kills and three aces, while Reis added two kills and a block.

Orange Coast plays host to San Diego City on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
