ENJOY WINE

Next Vintage Wine Shop is an exceptional resource for wines at Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza. And if you love to explore wines, attend Next Vintage’s wine tastings from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

For just $35 you can taste four to six wines paired with mini hors d’oeuvres prepared from Charlie Palmer’s kitchen. You’ll appreciate Palmer’s philosophy on enjoying wines. He prefers that guests enjoy wine so he prices them affordably (even for hard-to-find labels.)

Here’s the schedule for upcoming themed wine-tasting events:

Tuesday: German Riesling, considered by many wine aficionados as the noblest white grape variety.

Jan. 13: Spumante and Frizzanti sparkling wines of Italy. Taste the universe that exists outside of champagne; enjoy Italy’s diverse and food-friendly sparkling wines.

Jan. 20: Red table wines. Enjoy blended wines of distinction.

Jan. 27: Oregon is most famous for its Pinot Noir, but you can taste others that the state produces, and decide if Pinot is just the tip of the iceberg. Reservations required. For information, call (714) 352-2525 or go to www.charliepalmer.com/ bloomingdale/home.html.
