CdM’s Molnar to play water polo for Harvard

Elise Molnar, a Corona del Mar High senior, has committed to play women’s water polo at Harvard University next year.

Molnar helped the Sea Kings reach the CIF Southern Section Division I championship match last year. She earned third-team All-CIF Division I honors and was also selected to the All-Pacific Coast League second team.

Molnar, who finished with 41 steals, 33 assists and 26 goals last season, has a 4.3 grade point average, is an Academic Scholar with Honor and a National Honor Society member.

Molnar, a four-year varsity swimmer at CdM, chose Harvard after an Ivy League recruiting process involving Princeton and Brown, as well as several California Division I schools.

Corona del Mar, ranked No. 2 in CIF Division I, is off to a 4-0 start and will play host to Newport Harbor Friday at 4 p.m.
