Magic Johnson to sign books at Metro Pointe

Lakers basketball great Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson will visit the Barnes & Noble at Metro Pointe in Costa Mesa on Sunday to sign copies of his new book, “Magic Johnson’s 32 Ways to be a Champion in Business.”

As part of a nationwide tour promoting the book, the NBA Hall of Famer will arrive at noon at the bookstore at 901 South Coast Drive.

After winning five NBA championships in the ’80s as the star of one of the most dominant basketball teams in history, Johnson was forced into retirement by HIV.

Since leaving the league, Johnson has been heavily involved in many business ventures including running a movie theater chain, a movie production business and doing event promotions.

His book focuses on how to start and maintain businesses and draws on anecdotes from his illustrious basketball career.

Books will be for sale. Johnson’s agent has requested that guests don’t bring any other memorabilia for Johnson to sign.
