MALIBU — Sophomore Brandon Johnson scored on a penalty shot in sudden-death overtime for the difference in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament consolation semifinal Saturday at Pepperdine.
Johnson led UCI (11-14) with four goals and his twin brother Matt Johnson made nine saves.
UCI plays UC Santa Barbara for fifth place today at 11:30 a.m.

COSTA MESA — Simone Ibbotson scored 29 points and Casey Gomez had 22 for the Pirates in the OCC Crossover game Saturday.
OCC (5-1) outscored the Wolverines, 11-5, in the third overtime.

GLENDORA — Brian Helmuth made a three-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Pirates in the consolation game of the Neil Edwards Classic Saturday at Citrus College.
Helmuth (14 points) was one of five double-figures scorers for OCC (2-4).
